I can really see why this is seen as an American classic. It's got an inspirational story about American politics and stars Jimmy Stewart. Job done.
Looking through his filmography I discovered I've never actually seen a Jimmy Stewart film, but I feel like I have - probably because I've seen extracts of It's a Wonderful Life so many billions of times over the years I've become familiar with his face and, especially, his voice. Loved his performance as Mr. Smith and can't wait to see him in It's a Wonderful Life, Rear Window and Vertigo, all of which I have coming up in my list.
